Our Construction Division is driven by the TDC core values of doing right, improving the areas we work, and building for the long term. In addition to building high quality properties, a key part of this philosophy is the safety of our employees, contractors, and residents. As a full service General Contractor, TDC’s Construction Division designs and constructs each TDC property. Each property is meticulously planned and built by separate general contracting entities, ensuring the highest of expectations are met and exceeded, not only to ourselves, but to our residents, our partners, and our lenders.

Since 1955, TDC has built over 52,000 apartment units and 35,000 student housing beds in twenty-six states. The construction division builds between six and ten new apartment and student housing communities each year and continuously ranks as one of the country’s largest multi-family builders.





While consistently recruiting the brightest in multi-family building, the construction division has developed a comprehensive management system of scheduling, budgeting, quality assurance and safety programs to ensure each project exceeds its goals. Each property is characterized by the company’s collaborative efforts between construction, management and development teams. From detailed site selection and planning, to on site logistics, design, and finish, TDC construction division always delivers a quality product, on time and within budget. Beginning in 2008, the company adopted LEED Certified construction standards as outlined by the US Green Building Council. With thousands of LEED Silver, LEED Gold, LEED Platinum, and LEED for Homes Certified units completed and under construction, TDC has quickly become one of the largest green apartment builders and developers in the country.
